Private High Schools
of the San Francisco Bay Area (3nd Edition)
The most comprehensive source available for comparing
information on private independent, proprietary and religiously-affiliated
high schools from Santa Rosa to San Jose (and throughout the East
Bay), this book is newly updated and expanded at the request of
thousands of parents who have relied on it since it was first published
in 1998. The new third edition includes information on 60 high schools,
25 pages of advice on how to choose high schools and apply, and
13 pages of charts comparing schools’ statistics. This book
does what school web sites don’t do—it provides extensive
information about schools—all in the same format—so
accurate comparisons can be made.
Authors Betsy Little and Paula Molligan have more than 36 years
experience in education. Both have their MBA's and MA's in Special
Education and are school placement consultants for Bay Area families
for preschool through high school. Ms. Little has worked as a director
of admission, director of development, and director of financial
aid endowment for a number of California independent schools. She
is a former member of the Bay Area Directors of Admission. Ms. Molligan
holds a BS in Elementary Education and was a classroom teacher in
the East Bay and Marin, a middle school administrator for an independent
school, and the head of a private school in Marin. She is a former
member of the Bay Area Independent School Heads Association. Ms.
Little and Ms. Molligan are principals in Little and Molligan, School
Placement Specialists for public and private day and boarding schools.
They have offices in Marin and San Francisco.
