Toommy Tohkky

by Fabio Massimo Faggi

"In Toommy Tohkky, the English language itself is worked like a plastic medium, a kind of silly putty that can be coaxed into expressive shapes." —Diane Wood Middlebrook, author of Anne Sexton: A Biography.

Nothing escapes the eye of Fabio Massimo Faggi. In his first collection of poetry published in English, he delights us with wit and mischief, with sensuality and thoughtfulness. Even the most dreary, mundane aspects of life (laundry, for example) become a playground of possibility, opportunities for pranks and theatrics. In some of his most whimsical "tailed passages," Faggi commands the reader to become a part of the poetry, a part of the art. "Take your green dress, (wear it)..." Thus, the reader enters and helps create the rather surrealistic world of the poet where clotheslines stretch from Tuscany to San Francisco and love letters turn into kites. And when the mischievous meets the sensual, the results are most intriguing.

Author Fabio Massimo Faggi is a poet, visual artist, honorary Sioux, and marketing consultant. Originally from Florence, Italy, he now lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
